The Alabama Methodist Church: A Must-Visit Louisiana Treasure

On LA Highway Alt 2, just northwest of Bernice, Louisiana, near the Claiborne Parish line, stands the Alabama Methodist Church, one remarkable piece of history.

This church has the appearance of a storied legend. It isn’t just a piece of architecture, it’s an experience.

It’s grand.

It’s sweeping.

It’s breathing.

The Alabama Methodist Church is an entity unto itself.

Similar thoughts assailed my senses as I captured the tall, sky-reaching belfry, that must be at least 25 feet (or more) in height.

I felt humbled standing next to this church. Its grandiose structure was marvelous as I backed several dozens of feet away to capture all of its character, splendor, and glory in my viewfinder.

I hope these photographs allow you to experience the same feeling I felt visiting the Alabama Methodist Church.
