Long Shadows

That last hour of daylight, when the light is soft(er) and the shadows grow longer by the minute is my favorite.

You don’t have to travel far to find compelling compositions. I enjoy looking for different evening lighting scenarios right around the house when the weather is nice. The 30 minutes or so before the end of the day has some of the best light in my opinion.

I recently captured some interesting images with my Nikon Z50 and an FTZ-adapted AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G lens showcasing soft evening light. This is one of my favorite lightweight setups and the images straight out of the camera require minimal editing and tweaks (I usually use some free presets in LightRoom Mobile).
