I am fortunate enough that in many of the areas I travel through, I have the opportunity to return to them at some point in the future. I know at some point, my luck on that will run out, and I need to just start stopping and photographing these places of interest.
The St. Matthews Baptist Church in Stonewall, Louisiana, is a prime example of such a place (along with the Grand Cane Methodist Church too!). I have driven past it going on fishing trips to Toledo Bend Reservoir so many times, it almost became out of sight, out of mind.
But I have always wanted to stop and document it with my camera, and I have finally done just that.
I finished off a roll of Ilford HP5 400 with the last 4 frames dedicated to this quaint, rural place of worship.
