Steel Architecture Photography – Abandoned Poultry Feed Mill in Choudrant, Louisiana

For as long as I can remember, “The Feed Mill” (as it was always called)has stood in one form or another in Choudrant, Louisiana, where the Railroad tracks intersect (Highway)LA 145.

And, you didn’t need to physically see it to know it was there either. Yes, it was quite pungent 👃🦨.

The Feed Mill operated under several different companies during its operation, supplying many surrounding chicken farms with feed. I’m not sure who the last owner was, but it has been closed for several years now.

I’ve photographed the structure in the past but wanted to revisit it again and make more images of it. I remained outside the perimeter fence since the property is posted and (allegedly) under video surveillance.

I’d love to go inside and explore, but for now, I chose the legal path and captured what I could from the surrounding public roads.
