At The Deer Camp

I used to deer hunt some when I was younger, but haven’t really made the effort in years. Bass fishing is my favorite hobby and pastime (along with photography), so that’s where I spend my “free time”.

However, I have some relatives and close friends who have been in a longstanding hunting club that I go to quite often during the hunting season in Arkansas, just across the Louisiana state line.

I help (some) with deer stands and feeding setups because I do get a great deal of meat each season, but I mostly just enjoy hanging out on the club land with friends and family.

Oh yeah, and the food. There is always something delicious to eat up there. Even cold cut turkey sandwiches just hit differently in those off-the-beaten-path locations. Grilled burgers, deer chili, and big breakfasts are next level at the deer camp.

I recently went up to the deer camp and captured a few candid shots of scenes that caught my eye.

📷 All pictures were taken with a Canon Rebel T6s and a Sigma EX 17-50mm f/2.8 OS HSM DC lens. I used Canon DPP4 software to adjust the exposures and apply color profiles to the RAW files before exporting as JPEGs.
