I enjoy photographing cats. Mainly because we have 3 of them at home, and they sleep a lot (less movement for photography). Also, I like their prowess and curiosity about things.
Compared to hummingbirds, they are relatively easy to photograph, and I take the opportunity quite often to make pictures of them.
Recently, while dog/cat/house sitting for some family, I photographed their cat, KittyKitty, over a couple of different sessions, as he lounged in his environment. What drew me into these different sessions is how he sat in (or out of) the available light.
Whether he did it on purpose or not, I do not know. But what I do know is that interesting light with interesting subjects in it makes for great photos.
I called it Cat Study.

All the pictures in this article were created with a Canon EOS 7D, using a Canon EF 70-300mm f/4 – 5.6 IS II USM lens. I edited the RAW files with Canon DPP4 software.
