I go bass fishing with my brother several times a year over on Toledo Bend Reservoir. On many occasions, we forego fishing on the main lake and instead head up the Sabine River.
Fishing on the river is a bit different than fishing on the lake. Mostly, we target creeks, backwater sloughs and ponds, steep bank ledges, and cuts.
In one such area, there is an old wooden bridge that spans a creek off of the river that I’ve been to a half a dozen times or so. I’ve always wanted to photograph it, but typically have a hard time holding both my camera and a fishing rod 😆.

However, recently, I took the time to set the rod and reel down long enough to create a few images of this old bridge.
I wish I knew more about its history, but it’s certainly cool to see something like this out in the backwaters. I can only imagine what it might have been used for.
